BEN EINE

THE ARTIST

Ben Eine, (British) is a leading figure in contemporary typography art, initially making his mark as a graffiti writer over 30 years ago. He gained recognition for his distinctive typographic style, painting vibrant and oversized letters on shutters across East London. His innovative approach, marked by a "graffiti mentality," played a key role in the rise of street art's popularity.

Eine with Banksy founded the Pictures on Walls gallery together in 2003. POW was established in the spirit of Punk’s DIY movement because, as Eine recalls; “There wasn’t one gallery in London or the world that would touch what we were doing”

His work, including the notable 'Twenty First Century City' artwork, was gifted in 2010 by Prime Minister David Cameron to President Obama. Eine’s work is featured in prestigious collections worldwide. Eine's influence extends to the fashion world with collaborations with Louis Vuitton and his own brand, Eine London. Notably, he unveiled the world's largest street art work in 2018—the 'CREATE' mural, a 17,500 square foot masterpiece in East London visible from space.

Notable Works: His work is now held in the permanent collections of the V&A Museum London, The Museum of Modern Art Los Angeles, San Francisco’s Museum of Contemporary Art, Berlin’s Urban Nation Street Art Museum, Los Angeles ‘Beyond The Streets’ and The Dean Collection as well as the private collection of Louis Vuitton and numerous other commercial institutions. His distinctive letters continue to spell words and phrases across walls from London to LA, Florence to Tokyo. Eine continues to use street art to engage and surprise the public.
